Preparation

The grounds of Amrita University where the birthday celebrations would be held contained many piles of sand that are being used for various Ashram construction projects. They were all collected and moved to one large pile pictured here. Some sand was also spread throughout the grounds to keep the grounds dry as it had been raining for weeks before the celebrations. 26 September 2007
